‘A sad ending for an ace with 11 wins in the first half’… Departure to the US ahead of KS “I will support LG for the rest of my life”

LG Twins Adam Plutko returns to the United States today (27th).

LG announced on the 27th, “Plutko will leave for the United States at 4 p.m.,” and “He has been focusing on rehabilitation, but after consultation with the club, we decided that it would be difficult for him to pitch in the Korean Series.”

Looking at the first half of this season, Plutko is easily the best pitcher in the league. He played 102 innings in 17 games in the first half and recorded 11 wins, 1 loss, and an ERA of 2.21. When first starter Casey Kelly was struggling, Plutko took center stage and played the role of ace.

Because he pitched many innings in the first half, coach Yeom Kyung-yeop gave Plutko enough rest from the end of the first half to the beginning of the second half to maintain his stamina.

However, we could not see much of Plutko in the second half of the season. He was unable to go on the mound due to the coronavirus and minor injuries.

After Plutko became the losing pitcher in the game against KT on July 25th (3 runs in 6 innings), his pitching schedule was postponed due to a high fever. He tested positive for COVID-19 and was able to pitch 20 days later. He seemed to be recovering his condition, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) in 5⅓ innings against Samsung on August 15th and allowing 1 run in 6 innings against SSG on the 20th.

However, an injury occurred in the game against Changwon NC on August 26th. He suffered a left pelvic bone contusion. He was expected to be in rehabilitation for up to five weeks.

There was an unusual atmosphere surrounding Plutco’s return. Director Yeom Kyung-yeop also expressed uncomfortable feelings. It turned out that there were conflicting opinions between Plutco and the training department regarding the rehabilitation process.

After receiving the hospital examination results, Plutco sent the results to his personal doctor in the United States. Domestic medical staff and LG’s training department said it was okay to throw the ball, but it didn’t seem to be the case in the United States. Plutko slowed down his rehabilitation based on his doctor’s advice.

In the end, the difference in his position could not be narrowed. He gradually lost his confidence. It was natural for director Yeom Kyung-yeop to catch his eye. He was ultimately excluded from the Korean Series.

And on this day, I return to the United States.

Plutko left a message to fans and players through the club. The following is Plutco’s full message.

“To the LG Twins fans, thank you so much for being a haven for my family over the past two years. I can’t express my gratitude enough.

My son went to school here and my wife absolutely loves Korea. This is a special place for all of us. Thank you so much for taking the time,

my teammates! You know how I feel about you guys. We’ve worked really hard over the past two years. Even when I’m on the mound and throwing, and when I’m not, I’m committed to helping the LG Twins win. We have worked hard for this.굿모닝토토 도메인

Kim Hyun-soo has set a good example, and I firmly believe that the LG Twins are building a dynasty. Although it is a very small part of the process, I consider it a blessing to be able to be a part of it. Thank you so much. Words cannot explain everything

. I cannot thank you enough. The LG Twins will win the Korean Series, and the players have a one-team mentality.

I will support the LG Twins for the rest of my life, and words cannot explain what the LG Twins mean to me. LG Twins will continue to move forward and win. Fighting, LG Twins! Thank you.”
