NC left-hander Koo Chang-mo, 26, was scratched after suddenly complaining of pain in his second appearance since returning from the disabled list. A cloud hung over the NC mound, which had been at full strength.
Koo was the team’s second pitcher in the first game of a doubleheader against KIA at Changwon NC Park on Sunday, and he came off the mound after just 2.1 innings.
Taking over for starter Song Myung-ki in the sixth inning, Koo fanned six batters in two innings.
In the eighth inning, Koo walked Lee Chang-jin on a throwing error by the third baseman, and then walked pinch-hitter Kim Ho-ryung after five pitches.
Then, while facing Kim Do-young, he felt something wrong with his arm. Eventually, he was replaced, and his face was shown on the broadcast screen as he walked off the mound.
After being diagnosed with a fatigue fracture in his left forearm and micro-injury to his flexor muscles on June 2 against LG Electronics, Koo had been rehabbing. He returned to the first team at the last minute before the Asian Games.안전놀이터
However, he was eventually cut from the Asian Games roster and Koo Chang-mo was ready to join the team. He made his comeback with 2.1 scoreless innings against LG on April 22, and the team’s postseason preparations began, but the injury appeared to have flared up again, raising concerns.
“He continued icing and went to the hospital after the first game of the doubleheader,” said an NC team official. “We’ll have to see what happens after the results of the examination.”
