‘An eye for an eye, a home run for a home run’ NC Martin explodes for three-run homer in 3-0→3-5→7-5 comeback win

NC Dinos foreign outfielder Jason Martin (28) hit his first home run of the postseason.

Martin hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning of the game against the SSG Landers in the third round of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League postseason semifinals at Changwon NC Park on Friday.

In the bottom of the first inning, Martin led off with a single to right and advanced to second on a stolen base. With runners on second and third, NC took the lead on a double by Kwon Hee-dong. Seo Ho-cheol followed with an RBI single to make it 3-0.스포츠토토

NC’s lead didn’t last long. In the top of the second inning, NC starter Tanner Tully gave up a run on a bases-loaded walk to Guillermo Heredia. He then gave up a grand slam to Choi to cut the deficit to 3-5.

The momentum was almost lost, but NC answered right back in the bottom of the inning. After Do Tae-hoon singled and Park Min-woo walked to put runners on first and second, SSG pulled starter Oh Won-seok and brought in Noh Kyung-eun. Park Gun-woo hit a leadoff single against the new pitcher.

With runners on first and second, Martin took advantage of Noh’s 135 km/h slider and crushed it over the right field fence for a three-run shot that traveled 125 meters. It was Martin’s first home run of fall baseball.

Martin’s home run gave NC a 7-5 lead in the top of the third inning.
