‘Gwangju Holan’ Heo Yul Named K League’s ‘Young Player of the Month’ for September… First Career Award

Gwangju striker Heo Yul has been named the K League’s Lemona Young Player of the Month for September. It is the first award of his career.

The Lemona Young Player of the Month Award was established in 2021 by the Korea Professional Football League (hereinafter referred to as the “League”) with the sponsorship of Kyungnam Pharmaceuticals and is given to the “Young Player” who has made the biggest impact in the K League 1 each month.

To be eligible for the award, a K League 1 player must be ▲ a Korean nationality, ▲ 23 years old or younger (born in 2000 or later), and ▲ three years or younger (debuted in the 2021 season or later) from the year they made their first official K League appearance. Players who fulfill the above three conditions and appear in more than half of their team’s total playing time in the month are eligible. The final winner will be determined by discussion and vote of the members of the Technical Study Group (TSG) of the Federation’s Technical Committee.

For the September Young Player Award, a total of four games from rounds 29-32 were evaluated. There were six players who met the requirements, including Heo Yul, Uhm Ji Sung (Gwangju), Ryu Kwang Hyun (Gangwon), and Lee Tae Seok (Seoul). Among them, Heo Yul received the most votes from TSG members, earning him the September Young Player of the Month award.스포츠토토
