LG guard Yang Jun-seok (22-180 cm), the team’s No. 1 overall pick in the rookie draft, has returned from the U-tournament and is doing well in the team’s training camp.
Selected by LG in the first round of the 2022 rookie draft, Yang Jun-seok is a guard who, along with 2023 No. 1 overall pick Moon Jung-hyun (KT), led Murongo to its glory days. He was sidelined with an ACL injury, but made his professional debut last season and played 18 games. He averaged just over nine minutes per game and scored 2.6 points, but he had his moments.
“I thought I had to be 100 percent to play well, and I was able to learn how to take care of my body,” Yang said. Last season, I was grateful to be able to come back from injury and play on the court,” he said, “and it was great to be a part of the team’s journey to the quarterfinals.”
Since returning to health, Yang Jun-seok has also earned his Taekwondo mark. He competed for his country at the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu, China. “When I play internationally, I’m always impressed by the physicality of the opponents, and it’s fun to experience the different styles of basketball that each country plays,” he said.
Now that he’s back to focusing on team training, Yang is using the trip to improve his game. “Since it’s a pre-season training camp, I want to perform as well as possible without any injuries, and I hope to overcome the Filipino players’ strength and physique,” he said. He also recorded 10 assists in a scrimmage against a professional team in the Philippines on July 27.카지노
Yang shot 15 percent from three-point range last season. It wasn’t what he expected. “I had a lot of time off due to injuries, and I didn’t have a lot of game feel. I believe I will have a good success rate in the upcoming season,” Yang said.
With only 18 games under his belt, Yang could be in contention for Rookie of the Year in 2023-2024. However, Yang Jun-seok is looking at the team and not the rookie award. “My older brothers take care of me so well, and it’s fun to feel like we’re in sync,” he said. “I’m trying to understand the kind of basketball the coach wants to play, and my goal is to learn it quickly and help the team go higher than last season.”
