RYU baptizes praise even in defeat… what’s the secret?

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu has gotten good reviews despite taking the loss.

On July 7 (KST), MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported, “There was a lack of support for Ryu Hyun-jin. Ryu had a solid performance, but the result was not good.

On that day, Ryu started the 2023 Major League Baseball game against the Oakland Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum in the United States. He pitched five innings and gave up two runs in the team’s 2-5 loss. Ryu improved to 3-2 with a 2.65 ERA in seven games this season.

Ryu was removed from the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Rays trailing 1-2. The Toronto offense took Games 1 and 2 of the three-game series against Oakland. They went for the sweep, but the bats were heavy in Game 3. According to MLB.com, Ryu did his job, but the offense lost the game.

“Ryu was solid, but Toronto scored just two runs, fewer than usual,” MLB.com wrote.

Oakland third baseman Kevin Smith also praised Ryu. Smith blasted a game-winning three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-1 lead. He went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

According to the Associated Press, Smith said, “There’s a reason why Ryu has a long run. Ryu is not a pitcher who overpowers hitters, but he puts the ball where he wants it. It’s funky, like his changeup. If he throws it wherever he wants, it’s going to be a tough day.”

Ryu had only thrown 77 pitches by the fifth inning when he came off the mound. “It was his first time on normal rest, so we wanted to get him out quickly,” Toronto manager John Schneider said.

Ryu said, “Overall, it was fine. I gave up a home run, but I threw the ball where I wanted to. Command and everything else, I felt pretty good overall.”

Toronto is 77-63 and in the third wild-card spot in the American League. It’s within striking distance of a postseason berth. The Texas Rangers are just a half-game behind them.토토사이트

“We don’t have many games left,” Ryu said. Every game is very important for us to move forward. We need more wins than ever,” he said emphatically.
