Ryu Jung-il-ho ‘swept’ by Taiwan, beats Thailand to advance to Super Round at No. 2

Against Chinese Taipei, a strong gold medal contender, coach Ryu Jung-il chose Moon Dong-ju as his starting pitcher.

Moon is the ace of the team, with a fastball that tops out at 160 kilometers per hour.

However, he gave up a run in the first inning and another in the fourth on a wild pitch, and was unable to get through the fifth inning.

With a chance to pull off the upset, the team brought in Ko Woo-seok to close out the eighth inning, but even he gave up a hit and two more runs.

Our batters were stuck with Taiwanese starter Lin Yeou-min.

All of our expected hitters, including Kang Baek-ho and Kim Hye-sung, were silent.

We managed only six hits against Taiwan.

“We prepared a lot, but the opposing pitcher has a good ball, so I feel like we can’t keep up with the speed. I’ll try to sweep them when I get the chance.”안전놀이터

South Korea earned a spot in the Super Round with a 17-0, five-inning shutout win over Thailand today, but because they lost to Chinese Taipei to finish second in the group, the pressure is on them to beat both Japan and China in the Super Round.

Kwok Bin’s injury is also a variable.

Kwok Bin was expected to start against Chinese Taipei, but didn’t due to bursitis in his shoulder.

He said that he will adjust his condition in time for the Super Round, but there is no guarantee that he will be able to throw the ball at full strength.
